The Research Track teaches you how to create value from your research and takes you on a journey to discover its market potential. It's the perfect first step for researchers who are interested in entrepreneurship but have little or no experience with it.

During this programme, you develop entrepreneurial skills and discover whether your research can find its way to the market and help shape tomorrow's future. Thanks to the programme, you will be able to apply innovative techniques and methodologies to your own research.
Why participate
The Research Track is a practical programme that focuses on direct application to your own research case. You will learn about the correlation between market and society and about the importance of the customer's point of view. This gives you insight into the non-academic world and the added value that your research can offer.
The Research Track is an official course of the Doctoral Schools.

For whom
.
The Research Track is open to researchers from all Flemish universities and colleges, regardless of their research topic (alpha, beta and gamma sciences).
The programme is aimed at all researchers (PhD, postdoc, ZAP...) who want to discover how their research can be applied to our daily lives.
There is a maximum capacity of 21 participants per edition.
Practical

Theory.
Before the first session, you'll get access to our online learning environment. You will complete the following theoretical modules at your own pace:
- the differences and similarities between researchers and entrepreneurs
- recognise opportunities in your research
- value proposition
- business models
- pitching and presenting
- lean startup method
Each module provides a case study of a researcher who has become an entrepreneur.
It takes approximately 6 hours to complete these theoretical modules.

Exercises.
During the programme, the theory is applied to your own research. We offer guidance and use various techniques to teach you the right skills.
Group sessions with all participants, personal assignments, feedback from fellow students, pitching and presenting: it's all part of the programme.
